It was with enormous sadness that we heard about the tragic death of Tony Morrison. Tony had travelled to Canada for a short working engagement when he was in a fatal snowmobile accident on Saturday 6th February 2010.
Tony was a particularly important figure for NOTA as a founding member and our first Chair from 1991-1995 and in 1998 he was awarded an MBE for his work with NOTA.
An independent social care consultant and trainer, through his extensive work and his writing, Tony had an international reputation and was widely known and admired, not least for his creativity, intelligence and immense range of skills.
To those who didn’t know Tony, none of the above conveys the warm, charismatic man that many encountered when they met him.
The NOTA National Executive is giving thought to how NOTA can mark our respect for a man who helped shape our organisation from its earliest days.
I know that all of our thoughts are with Tony’s wife and family.
